Elizabeth Kynaston 1768-1840 married Captain William Gaskell

The Kynaston family can be traced from Wales and Shropshire over many centuries, then London from the 1620s up to the mid 1700s then Essex, and London to the first quarter of the 1800’s.

This hatchment shows, on the left, the Gaskell Coat of Arms with a black background indicating the death of William Gaskell and on the right the Kynaston Coat of Arms..

 

The Hatchment hangs in the Church of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, where Elizabeth lived with her husband, William

Kynaston/Torriano Coats of Arms

This was painted on a shield above the Memorial Tablet to Susannah Kynaston, nee Torriano, in St Mary & St Christopher Church, Panfield, Essex, where Rev. Thomas Kynaston was Rector from 1737. Susannah had died in 1734.

 

The Kynaston Arms are to the left and the badly damaged Torriano Arms to the right
