Griffith Kynaston

 

 

Son of Gruffith Vychan and Agnes Bulkeley,  father of Philippus Kynaston and husband of Gwen verch Iowerth

Griffith Kynaston, born c. 1231, was of Stokes, Shropshire. He witnessed a deed in 1313 as Griffin de Kinneston.

His arms were: Argent, a chevron engrailed between three mullets pierced sable

Griffith married Gwen verch Iowerth, daughter and coheir of Iowerth ap Griffith ap Heilin ap Jena ap Kenrick.  Gwen was born in Fron-goch, Llanymynech, Shropshire c.1241

The family arms were: Sable, three nags’ heads erased argent.

Griffith and Gwen had one son recorded:

 

Philippus Kynaston born c.1270
