Griffith Vychan

 

 

Son of Griffith Vychan and Matilda verch Ieuan,  father of Griffith Kynaston and husband of Agnes Bulkeley

Griffith Vychan, born c. 1190, was of Carhowell, Kinneley, Shropshire 

He married (Matilda) Agnes Bulkeley, daughter of Robert de Bulkeley, Lord of the Manor of Bulkeley, County Palatine of Chester and Jane Butler.  Robert was the son of William Bulkeley, Lord of Buclough, County of Cheshire. Jane Butler was the daughter of William Butler.

Robert de Bulkeley’s Arms were: sa, a chev., ar. between three bulls' heads ar., affronte. Crest, out of a ducal coronet or, rampant. Motto: Nec temere nec timide (neither rashly nor timidly).
