John Nalton

Son of John and Mary Nalton, father of Joseph Nalton and wife of Jane Oxendale

John was baptised in Langton by Malton in Yorkshire on 8th January 1809.  John married Jane Oxendale on 23rd November 1830 in Bulmer, North Yorkshire, which is near Norton. Jane, was baptised on 1st June 1808 in Norton by Malton, Yorkshire, which is quite near Bulmer; Jane was the daughter of William and Rebecca Oxendale.  

At the birth of their first three children from 1832 to 1838, they were living in Norton.  Between 1838 and 1840 the family moved to Driffield

The children of John and Jane are as follows

According to the 1841 Census for Driffield, Yorkshire, John and Jane were living in Wrangham’s Yard, Providence Place, Driffield.  John was a Sawyer, aged 30 to the nearest 5 years and Jane was also aged 30 to the nearest 5 years. 

According to the 1851 Census, John and Jane were living at 77 Providence Place.  John was then aged 42, still a Sawyer.  Jane was also aged 42

According to the 1861 Census, John, aged 52 was a Wood Sawyer and their address was Wranghams Yard, Great Driffield. Jane was also aged 52

Jane died in West Gate, Driffield, Yorkshire on 25th March 1867, aged 58.  The informant, with her mark, was Hannah Nalton, not known

John died in 1 Albermarle Crescent, Scarborough on 8th July 1874, aged 64. The informant was his son, John, then living in Copmanthorpe, near York
