Daughter of Henry Symes and Sarah Ball, mother of Dorothy Rose Turner and wife of William Turner


Rosina was born in George Street, Bristol on 23rd December 1855. The informant was her mother, Sarah Ball

According to the 1871 Census she was a National School Primary Teacher

On her marriage certificate of 1875, she is called Rose and her address was Hall lane, Walsall. No occupation was listed.

Rosina died on 17th July 1940 while on a visit to the home of her daughter, Gertrude, 37 Riches Street, Wolverhampton.

Rosina’s obituary Notice in the Letchworth Citizen:

Mrs R Turner, who came to Letchworth with her family in 1911 and who, of recent years has resided with her daughter un Souberie Avenue (Edith), passed away on Wednesday last week. The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church on Saturday, the chief mourners being; Mr & Mrs W. H. Turner, son and daughter-in-law, of Colwyn Bay; Mrs McCormick, daughter of Watford; Mrs Troup, daughter; Mr and Mrs R. Owen, son-in-law and daughter; Mr and Mrs E Fountain, son-in-law and daughter;  Mr and Mrs H. W. Fulton, son-in-law and daughter, of Streatham; Mr McCormick, of London, Mr & Mrs Cosgrove, Muriel and Robert Owen, grandchildren.

Rosina was buried in the Churchyard of St Mary's, Old Letchworth, with her daughter, Florence.  The memorial inscription read:

1886 - 1945

The Churchyard has recently been cleared of most gravestones, including the above.
